I Love You So... : (Gifts for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, Gifts for New Parents) (Marianne Richmond)

This was a favorite for me and my daughter for years. We read it together every night and I've gifted it to baby showers ever since. I was so disappointed to find they have revised the new book, and will no longer be purchasing to give to new families. It was perfect just as it was.

Its a really cute book that does a cute job attempting to explain to a child the amount of love a parent has for their child. I choked up the first few times reading it to my babe. Its really cute! The illustrations are bright and colorful. The illustrations show both gender adults and both gender children. It doesnt specifically mention a gender or parents. So it could be used for grandparents, parents, siblings, adoptive families anything. Its very neutral. And its very sweet.

I’m sorry, but this wonderful book is not the same as it used to be. It used to be so much better. With pages omitted and wording changed up for whatever reason, I wouldn’t gift this to anyone now like I used to. This was one of my kids favorite book as toddlers. How sad!

My daughter and I love reading this book. Cute, simple rhyming phrases through out. She cant read but knows the words and says them with me. Good message explaining to kids how much parents love you and that parents love you even if they dont like bad things you do. Parents love isnt dependent on what you do, but who you are.

This book is beautifully written and I love that it can apply to any adult-child relationship. I was looking for a book for my adopted son and found this to be such a wonderful way to tell him how much I love him. It's well written and very touching-- for example:I can't imagine lifebefore you came along...me there singing senseless,no meaning to my song.Call it meant to beor simply blessed fate,you fill my heart with love...and for that I celebrateI feel very emotional after reading this book to my child because it does such a wonderful job of capturing my feelings. There are also lots of things going on in the illustration to even keep my toddler interested. He points out various things in the pictures like balls, dogs, butterflies, etc. and lets me read the whole book to him. I would recommend this book a must read to any child that you love whether he/she is biological, adopted, grandchild, etc.

I received this as a gift for my baby shower, and my child loves it. The drawings could be a little better, in my opinion, but then again, it's not written for adults so why should it be illustrated to meet their expectations? This book is way better than "I'll love you forever". I love that it talks about how we still love our children even if they're cranky or break things or if they're sick, and it really opens the door to having a conversation about how we also still love them when they're happy or sad, etc. Totally recommend this!

I bought this book for my 2 year old daughter . My daughter just loves to read books as soon as she went and picked it up as soon as she saw it and asked me to read it to her. She loves it! I bought this book for her because sometimes the terrible twos don;t have the easiest of times however, It lets her know how much I love her! This book has amazing messages for any age children and it lets them know no matter how mad you may get they are still loved very much. Marianne Richmond is an amazing author and gives the best messages in her books.

I purchased this book for my son for Christmas, he is almost two years old. I bought it on a bit of a whim, it looked cute and it was a good price. When I received it I opened it up to read it and I was blown away. What a sweet book! It actually brought tears to my eyes. I like how both girls and boys are pictured, so it is not a strictly mother/son or mother/daughter book. The illustrations are darling and so sweet. This is a great book to display on the shelf and it will be read for years to come.

This book is a must for mums to read to their kids! i had this for my oldest years ago and bought my youngest her own copy so they both have copies to read to their kids (if they have them) one day. It is my oldest's favourite book and he's 8 so beating out Minecraft and Skylanders books is pretty huge!

Love this book.

I've read this so many times to my son. He's now 10 and still likes me reading it to him. Hard not to cry by the end of it. One of our favourites. Have given it to others for gifts too. Great for boys or girls.
