Great Keypad, but eats batteries
Honestly, I love this little thing! It's the perfect complement to my 2017 MBP, even to the point of having the same key styling. I specifically bought this for the dedicated "backspace" key that Macs lack, since I'm often working over a VPN to reach a Windows server that reacts differently to the backspace key.The one drawback is the battery life. I go through AAA's like crazy. Given the placement of this keypad's power switch, it really shouldn't be so easy for it to turn itself on when it's in my bag, but it does -- constantly. Seems like I'm dropping a new pair of industrial batteries in it every other use. While I prefer the Bluetooth functionality over a cord, my wallet would prefer that it at least charged over USB with a rechargeable battery (maybe an optional replacement screw cap with a mini or lightning port, attached to a rechargeable cell? Just a thought, Newer!)

Power button too easy to press by accident. No text for numlock function.
It works great, BUT it would be really nice if it was rechargeable instead of AA powered. I'm not knocking the star for that. I missed it in the description. The only annoying thing is it keeps turning on while in my bag. The power button has no delay built in and it's dead flush with the left side. so if anything touches that top left corner...it turns on. It would be nice if the power button were slightly recessed, and required it to be held briefly to power it on/off. also it would be nice if it showed that pressing the "fn" key and "tab" key operated the numlock function. It took me a couple minutes to figure that out one day when those two got pressed in my bag one of the times it has been turned on while still in the bag. That is why its not 5 stars. fix those two things...and it's golden!

Function Keys are Useless with Windows PCs!
This keypad is probably fine if you're looking for something to attach to your Mac keyboard. However, I was looking for a keypad that could have "copy", "paste", and similar functions on it, to use on my Windows PC at work. Although I could find no information anywhere online, I assumed the function keys were programmable -- otherwise why are they there? The keypad came with extensive instruction on how to attach it to a Mac keyboard, but no information at all about the function keys. When I contacted the manufacturer they responded right away to my email, but kept giving me links to sites that did not address how to program their own keypad. They did not seem to grasp the idea that if you're selling a keypad with extra keys, you owe it to the customer to be clear on how to use the extra keys. After many back-and-forths they concluded that the function keys can't be programmed in Windows because the keypad does not use a MS Bluetooth connection.I received this answer on the last day of my Amazon return window, and am returning the keypad. If Newer Tech had provided more information about the extra keys up front it would have saved me a lot of time and frustration!

I had the hardest time powering on/pairing this device. ...
I had the hardest time powering on/pairing this device. I thought it was defective. I tried a couple fresh batteries--nothing. I tried a combination of keystrokes and randomly I thought I saw a green and amber light flash, but I never got to see it on my MacBook Pro to pair it via bluetooth. I sent a support question in to Newertech but did not get a response. Finally I thought to wipe the cover end of the battery compartment with alcohol, and it started working. Wow, either this cover had a invisible thin film of "something" that prevented the battery contacts from working. Obviously if this didn't work I would have returned it. If the item worked out of the box I would have given it at least 4 stars.

Works Great with my Mac
UPDATE - 2/12/2017: For anyone considering this and reading the negative reviews, I've had this for three months now and am STILL haven't had any issues with it. I've had this and have been using it quite a bit every day for almost a month now and I haven't had any of the issues others have experienced. I paired it once, and once I turn it on it wakes up and connects right away (I keep it turned off when I'm not using it to preserve the battery), no sticky keys and everything works as it should. It's well built (it's actually aluminum not silver-colored plastic) and looks great with my MacBook Pro (if you are a little obsessive like me that's nice). A caveat for PC users - everything on the manufacturer's website is almost exclusively for Apple products so it may have some odd behaviors that need "tweaks" to make it work well (although it seems like a couple of people have figured out how to tweak it). I definitely recommend for Mac users.

high quality; works on an old mac and on sierra; has bonus keys
This keypad works great even on new newest mac os (sierra) and on an old (2010) MacBook pro. I'm not sure why others have reported trouble pairing the keypad. It could be that they did not put the keypad in "pairing mode". To do this, you just turn the keypad on by pressing the power button once. Then open the bluetooth settings in system preferences. Now hold the power button for a few seconds until a light beneath the keys starts flashing repeatedly. Afterwards, the keypad shows up as a new device in the bluetooth settings window and pressing "pair" beside it finishes the pairing. This keypad is also great because (1) the quality is high like an apple device and (2) unlike all of the others it has home/end/pageup/down and delete keys in addition to the numbers. I needed these for using the blender animation suite (to make my life easier).

Good looking, works well when paired and connected...
Ordered this keypad 3 months ago and I have mixed feelings about it. It looks good, its elegant, works well when working... The problems I encountered with this that I needed to pair with my Dell Inspiron 2-1 every single time I turned off laptop and then back on. It simply would not reconnect when either device or laptop were turned. It required to remove the keypad from Bluetooth Devices, and then initiate pairing process to connect. Pretty annoying to have to do every single time you want to use it. Notebook Im using device with is 2-1 Dell Inspiron 7348 i7, 8gm ram, ssd, Windows 10 Pro.
