Raid 1
So far so good, it has been in my system for about 2 months. I have it loaded with 2 x 1TB ssd drives.Pros:- It's small, really small for a raid 1 configuration- The housing seems well built- Easy to setup- Muted screen backlighting, super-bright indicator LED's are obnoxiousCons: - It needs a thunderbolt port of the option of usb 3.0. Firewire and usb 2.0 are not ideal.- A small annoyance but the cable that connects to the back of the unit has a transformer on too short of a cable, so the transformer dangles in mid-air

Well made
This is a well-made drive enclosure. Mostly metal, and nicely finished. Works well with my Macs and offers some flexible configurations.

Love these enclosures!
I own two of these loaded with SSD drives and they work great. Never have a problem accessing my large picture and music libraries. FireWire with my Mac works flawlessly.

Solid performer in mission critical business running a VM
We have two of these mirroring Crucial 250GB SSD. One has been running two years the other about two months. Speeds on these are at about 70mbs over FW800. Wish they were USB3 also so when my mac mini server goes down I can move them over to a modern Mac (no FW800) within minutes to have our mission critical stuff back up.I tested killing one drive and as described it keeps on spinning the other drive w/o issues and informed me of the drive degradation.Don't recall if I bought them on Amazon or OWC

Unreliable at best
Bought one of these from OWC. After one year of working OK, this unit is unreliable at best in mirrored RAID mode hooked to a Win 7 PC. It will drop USB connection in midstream, often leaving the directory corrupted. Even when connected it often is really slow. Power-cycling will usually "cure" it, but only for a while, But for trouble-free backup storage, this unit is absolutely terrible, even with high quality drives. Definitely not worth the C-note.
