No dog shaming please, just an honest review
So I bought this product thinking it’s foolproof and guaranteed not to hurt my dogs. I’ve been trimming my white dogs’ mats for the last 20 years, but they have white hair and pink skin so it’s not too hard differentiating the danger zones. Well, I used this on my black schnauzer and I must have been overconfident in the ability of these scissors to guard against injury but I accidentally cut a 1/2 centimeter hole in his skin!!! Omg. It cut like butter and now I can see his insides, like a piece of pink chicken. It makes me squirm and die a little every time I think about it. So that’s never happened before. He barely squeaked so I didn’t realize until later on and then I was horrified. On the plus side, this scissor is really sharp? And strong. We are so so lucky I didn’t hit a major artery. But I did spend $60 on first aid products and am still processing how to heal this hole in his armpit. My poor poor baby. He’s getting so much extra guilt cuddling. Yeah I have to return this. Clippers from now on only, for life

Really nice set (plus a warning!)
This is a nice set to have. Both pairs of scissors feel like quality equipment and they've obviously given some thought to the need for minor adjustments to them, and made that possible.I had no clue which of the bazillion sizes of combs that come with this I was supposed to use for my Persian kitten and had never had to groom a cat before (aside from just brushing and claw-clipping). In other words, I have no idea what I'm doing. Their videos are helpful, though, and even the packaging can be enough instruction to just start cutting... so I did.I just used the smallest comb size. I won't say he turned out like a show cat, but I was impressed that he also didn't look like he was butchered! It was nice to not have to worry that I might cut his skin, and the small scissors really does work well for trimming between toes. He's not even afraid of the vacuum cleaner so I doubt he would have been freaked out by electric clippers, but I didn't want to chance it. This was also less expensive than a good pair of clippers; I won't have to be near an electrical outlet when I want to groom him; and sometime in the next year or so we're going to be living full time in a motorhome, so I'm trying to buy as many things as possible that will run on batteries or don't require electricity at all. I consider it a good purchase all around.UPDATE 6/7/15: OMG, do NOT do what I just did to my poor cat! These are so easy to use that you can get complacent, and tonight I made the stupid mistake of using them upside-down, and cut the tip of his ear. Guess what? When you use them upside-down you no longer have protection from cutting them. I hope he still trusts me to use these in the future, but I wanted to be sure no one ever made the same idiot move I did.

Easy to use. Even my dogs enjoy it.
I have 2 yorkies and think my dogs love it more than I do. Each laid down and allowed me to clip their hair, which was shocking! They did take breaks to wrestle each other but allowed me to clip them for long stretches in between. I was impressed since the one, I was told tried to bite the groomers blow dryer, and hates vacuums while the other runs from baths. After the groomer had to drag one off for grooming I thought i'd try diying. The product was easy to use, however I did have to put a little more effort for some spots. I also will have to pratice grooming their faces a bit more. It was still easy to use but I felt too close.

Easy to use, even cuts
The media could not be loaded. So far this has been the best option! My dogs are meant to be hand stripped but they cannot stay still and they are afraid of razors. So far Scaredy cuts has made it a pleasant experience for both my dogs. It’s pretty easy to use, the hand motion is a bit tiring, my index finger hurts a bit from grooming just one dog. But overall I’m pretty happy with this tool! I have no idea what I’m doing but my dogs are looking great!

Scaredy Dog Finally Got a Haircut
My wife I foster dogs so we have a lot of dogs coming in and out of our home. Mostly we foster small dogs and can convince them the electric clippers are not going to kill them. Last year we took in a Schnauzer/Scottie Terrier mix. He is a larger dog than we usually foster, very loving but super fast on the bite. And he bites for keeps. I have built a relationship with him that actually allowed me to pull a few thorns out of his foot one day and not die in the process. But when it comes to sounds... a loud clap, cough, eclectic clippers.... NOPE He is just not having it. I decided to try these clippers.I got him settled on the table and brushed him with the combs of the scaredy clippers. We have built a relationship where combing is acceptable. I started cutting and after a short amount of time, he settled and let me get all over his body. His face was another story. His face remains a little uneven and not as short as I wanted.... but I even got some of his face. I even bought some muzzles but I didnt need them for this project because he came to accept the clippers. I only one time snipped him because I wasnt using the comb guard to get in close on his belly. We had to start over on the trust. But he calmed quickly. I finally gave him a haircut and got his dreadlocks taken off. I was beginning to look like a neglectful dog parent. But there was no way electric clippers by anyone was going any where near him. Not without a heavy duty tranquillizer. These clippers are definitely worth the Money. My only wish would be that the clippers be interchangeable between right hand and left hand without having to buy a left hand set. I found a few areas were hard to reach or I needed to go in an opposite direction that how I was working to try and reach some difficult spots. So I only gave Maneuverability a 3 star rating. But over all I am very pleased with my order.

Very good quality set, dog who doesn’t like groomer happy for me to use it!
These have arrived sooner than expected and I have to say they have exceeded my expectations. They are great quality and our dog likes me using them. Our dog was ok at the groomer until the last appointment we had before lockdown when he suddenly didn’t like the noise of the dryers etc. I was planning to start taking him again soon but I was worrying about it (and dealing with him hating the groomer on top of everything else in this pandemic just felt like too much) so thought I’d order this for now to trim his beard etc. He wasn’t having it when I tried human electric clippers we already have (maybe he’s associating that with whatever sounds he didn’t like at groomers) and I frankly don’t have the energy right now for long drawn out training.I had tried with regular hair scissors but worried about him moving suddenly and poking him. These are a wonderful alternative! He loved getting brushed and combed so this is very easy to incorporate into that. I just brush him them comb him with the attachment on the scissors then after a minute cut the hair. He doesn’t care at all and sits still. When I stop he asks for more combing ha ha.The little set of scissors included is very useful too for around his eyes and toes etc.Our dog is 3/4 lab and 1/4 poodle and weirdly his hair only grows long on his face, bottom and paws so it feels like this set is going to take the place of the groomer for me - even if things go back to normal. If our dog needed his whole body cut all the time it would maybe be different. Although if I had a dog that needed that and other ways weren’t working I’d definitely give it a go with these, it would just take a while. Just don’t expect it to be as easy as with electric clippers! These are just well made scissors with safety ends and attachable guides.I watched some of the Scaredy cut videos online before the set came and I did feel it gave me simple pointers on what to do.Again, very glad I ordered these. Easy to use, dog likes it, and it will likely save me money. Win-win-win!Update June 2021:This set has been one of my best ever buys. My dog loves it, gets excited when I get it out now, and really seems to ENJOY me giving him a trim with it! I’ve given him a summer cut and he was delighted getting it done and is enjoying being cooler now. I have got better using it over time too. Really pleased.

Scaredy Cut Brilliant Product
Purchased the Scaredy Cut Silent Clipper with Tiny Trim for my long haired guinea pig. This is a really brilliant product, I cannot tell you how pleased I am with it. The scissor is sharp and is very quiet and so doesn't frighten her. Being a guinea pig I found using the smaller attachments better on her hair than the larger ones but this product would be useful for any animal that is easily stressed. The Tiny Trim scissor is really good for cutting around the botty area as her fur can get tangled and dirty but if you have a cat or dog they will work on paws or ears. It is one of the best things I have bought for my pet as she was getting over heated with the long hair and it was stressful for me using kitchen scissors. The Scaredy Cut is much safer to use as the attachments act as guards against cutting your pet. They also have rounded ends so you cannot poke and hurt your pet. I am so pleased that I bought these instead of electric clippers.

Best ever buy
I found these took a few tries to get the hang of the technique. My dog was so nervous about getting clipped that I was determined to make it work. He hated going to the groomers so much it was impossible to get his coat groomed. He wasn't keen on even this at first but then I discovered the peanut butter trick. A little whole food peanut butter on a spoon keeps him totally preoccupied for 5 minutes and because these are silent he doesn't really bother what I am doing. I can only manage a bit at a time but each session is getting easier. The little scissors are excellent for trimming round legs, feet and ears. He is still a work in progress but these are definitely going to be the answer for us. I am so relieved to have solved the problem. Now when he sees me get the scissors out he runs through to 'help' lay down the newspapers and sits down to wait for his trim. Nothing short of a miracle!

Amazing simple and stress free
Wow!I have a Springer Spaniel who hates the sound of clippers when I’m cutting my sons hair so I knew that was not an option. To be honest he is not particularly happy with being brushed and is very nervous of new people so we knew that any form of grooming was going to be stressful for all of us.I found these grooming scissors and thought it was worth a try even if we only managed a few cuts each time, in an effort to tame our fluff ball of a spaniel.Well ........my god my dog actually sits calmly while I trim is fur.......and doesn’t try to bite the scissors like he does with a brush.100% recommended this product

Not scaredy any more !
I love these clippers. My 11 year old Cocker Spaniel has always been frightened of the buzzing of electric clippers. These are the perfect solution. They are sharp enough to cut through the long silky bits of fur around her legs and sides and also the thicker, denser coat on her back. They are as easy as using an ordinary pair of scissors. I normally clip her in stages. I trim all of the long fur to a shorter length first and then go over her with continuous snips to tidy her up. It usually takes a few goes but only because she gets fed up, not because she's scared. The suppliers are very friendly and efficient, if you have the need to get in touch with them. I would highly recommend this supplier and product.
