Fabulous album
This is a brilliant album of Spanish abba songs along with a dvd of performances in Spanish. The group look really happy and Frida gets up during Dame, Dame, Dame and does a bit of a shimmy, she's a great dancer x

ABBA inSpanish is so romantic.
I grew up with ABBA and do remember the Spanish album they did. I am quite lucky I understand most of it as they lyrics are similar to the English ones but not quite as it is a translation into Spanish. This does not take away the beautiful melody's and the slower songs are more romantic. Definitely a very good CD to buy. Absolutely love it.I am still waiting for it to be added to my Amazon Music library.

Worth getting just for the DVD
For those who have Oro, and Mas Oro you may think this is not worth buying. You are wrong. The DVD itself is worth buying on its own - wonderful to see them being interviewed on Spanish television and to perform (not live) 4 songs in Spanish (Dame Dame Dame is good fun). The other 3 promo clips have been released previously but round off a fantastic DVD. A must for ABBA fans.

Truly a must for every fan in Latin America. It compiles previous CDs Oro and Más Oro, but the DVD is great. This was a great seller in Mexico in 1980 and is enjoyable to hear their hits in spanish once again.

ABBA a la Spanish...
Arrived on good condition. Great to know that I could still get this DVD'd special edition version of 'Gracias Por La Musica' 😁 as I've a friend who's doing a Spanish language diploma through university, loves ABBA music, and my partner & I thought it'd make a great graduation gift.I feel ABBA sound best on this album with their ballads: ('Al Andar' ('Move On'), 'Gracias Por La Música' ('Thank You For The Muusic'), 'Estoy Soñando' ('I Have A Dream'), 'Chiquitita', 'Felicidad' ('Happy New Year'), and 'Se Me Está Escapndo' ('Slipping Through My Fingers' ...though ¡Dame! ¡Dame! ¡Dame! ('Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! [A Man After Midnight]') sounds great in Spanish, and it retains it's original "oomph" quite well.

Classic ABBA in Español
This was the first ABBA record I ever owned. Originally released in 1980, The LP originally titled "Gracias por la Musica" ("Thank You For The Music") featured some of ABBA's big hits (and a couple of lesser known ABBA songs) sung entirely in Spanish.I must say (being a Chilean) that the girls sing wonderfully in Spanish. Yes, you do hear their delightful accents in some, maybe all of the songs, but this just adds to the charm. The star vocalist on this album is Agnetha Fältskog since she sings a bulk of the songs and her vocal work is superb. Her voice is spotless in her lead tracks such as "Chiquitita", "Gracias por la Musica" ("Thank you for the Music"), "Al Andar" ("Move On"), and " Dame, Dame, Dame" (“Gimme, Gimme, Gimme”). We get to hear the delicacy, power and texture of her gorgeous voice more here than on some of ABBA's other studio albums and since these versions are not as textured and overdubbed like their English counterparts, we get to hear the delightful harmonies in all of their splendour. Just listen to the chorus in "Chiquitita" and "Al Andar" and compare them to the English versions and you will see what I mean. For the most part, the English versions sound bigger but the Spanish versions are crisper, less intense production-wise but superior in sound and texture, vocally speaking. Anni-Frid Lyngstad also shines in "Fernando", "Estoy Soñando" ("I Have a Dream"), "Conociendome, Conociendote" ("Knowing Me Knowing You") and the gorgeous “Andante, Andante”. Surprisingly, “I Have a Dream” was never a favorite song of mine. Although a pretty tune, I always skip over it whenever I’m listening to an album it resides in (“Voulez-Vous”, “Gold” etc) however I absolutely love this Spanish version. Lyrically, it works better in my opinion and Frida’s voice is soothing. I also prefer the Spanish versions of "Chiquitita", "Fernando", "Gracias por la Musica", "Dame, Dame, Dame" and “Hasta Mañana” mainly due to the pristine vocals."Dancing Queen" ("La Reina Del Baile") is a draw. Vocally the girls sound great but the overall production is slightly inferior such as the glorious piano in the original. On this recording, the piano sounds more synthesized and muted. We also don't get that intense and embellished musical production of the original which I would have preferred here (as opposed to the solo pieces) because after all, this is more of an ensemble piece with both girls vocals at the forefront. "La Reina del Baile", production wise, sounds a bit watered down however the vocals are still good and Agnetha's high pitches are more emphasized here as well. This version is also a bit longer as the second verse is extended.Commercial wise, the LP, "Gracias por la Musica" was a hit, especially in Latin America and the first single taken off the album "Chiquitita" reached # 1 in several Latin American markets. This Deluxe edition contains extra songs that were not included originally but were added to the "ABBA ORO" compilation released years later. These are "Ring Ring", "Andante Andante", "Felicidad" ("Happy New Year"), "No Hay a Quien Culpar" ("When all is Said and Done") and "Se Me Esta Escapando" ("Slipping Through My Fingers"). This Deluxe Edition also comes with a DVD which has some delightful promo clips, mimed performances of “Chiquitita”, an International Sleeve gallery and a charming interview – ABBA on Spanish TV (Especial Aplauso 100).Those that already have “ABBA – ORO” may not see the point in purchasing this. However, I just had to get it for simple nostalgia. As I already stated, this was the first ABBA album I ever owned and it was the reason I fell in love with the group, more specifically, those 2 beautiful women with those glittering vocal chords laughing in the cover photo. The DVD is also an added bonus. And lastly, you do not need to know a word of Spanish to appreciate this recording. The melodies are great and you’d be surprised at how quickly one of these songs can pick you up from the emotional gutter. I have seen it a thousand times over and just as important as the classic melodies are Fältskog’s and Lyngstad’s beautiful voices. “ABBA: Gracias Por La Musica” – Deluxe Edition is a great Spanish language recording and is highly recommended to those who do not have this and are a fan of good, popular music.
