YaktraxWalker Traction Cleats for Snow and Ice, Black, Small

I fell on the ice 5 years ago and really hurt my knee. After that I was very scared of ice. I saw these and decided to give them a try. I had the same pair for 3 years and they were awesome. They are great for walking in snow and ice. The only thing that bothers me about them is I have to carry an extra pair of shoes around with me if i am planning to go inside anywhere. These are super slick on hard indoor floors, but seem to do fine on concrete outdoors. They aren't really easy to take on and off so i have adjusted to carrying slip on shoes with me throughout the winter.Last winter i noticed one of the rubber bands that holds the coils broke. It didn't seem to make a huge difference and it was at the end of winter so i decided to go ahead and wear them and just get new ones for the following winter. That was a mistake. I ended up catching the broken rubber weird when i was stepping off the pourch and I fell. 5 months later i finally healed from the completely torn ligaments in my ankle that fall caused.Moral of the story: GREAT PRODUCT. I don't fear walking outside at all, Don't try to walk on hard flooring, and if they break buy a new pair they aren't that expensive. Don't be stupid like me and try and use them when they are broken and end up with another injury.I did get a new pair for this winter and they are still great. I love them. I expect them to last me around 3 winters like the last pair did. I'm a huge spokesperson for them and are always telling people i work with and my family about them.If you are somewhat clumsy or if you just want extra help walking on the ice or in the snow get these. You won't regret it.

I bought these in CT for icy hiking. The first time using in snow, one must have shot of my boot. within 10 minutes of getting on the trail, I was slipping on one foot, and one was gone. I went back and could not find it, it may have shot several feet , like a rubber band.While they did help with traction, my experience was short lived! Felt like I wasted my $I bought another brand of micro spikes, which lasted for years.

Bought two of these and they work! Helped with all the snow that just fell in NY. I'm pregnant so I was worried about slipping,these have great traction and grip. I'm a size 7.5 in shoes and they fit great. Still slipped a little on black ice but I guess that's normal? Didn't fall. Great product.

I mistakenly wore the boots for a short distance indoors on ceramic tile. I fell and I'm in a lot of pain. :(

A few years ago I bought a set of the studded type from Walmart and they were like ice skates on hard wet concrete, didn't do much on packed snow and were liking cocking a crossbow trying to get them on.Based on reviews I bought 5 pairs of these for stocking stuffers and don't regret it one bit. Not everyone has used them, but those that have love them.My driveway is a hill and since we own a Jeep Wrangler I don't always shovel it, so the packed tracks become extremely slick, but with these I can carry the recycle bin / trash bags down without falling and busting my. . . coccyx.Based on the other reviews I ordered a medium for myself, even though I only wear a Mens 7 1/2 W and I don't have to struggle to put them on and they've never fallen off.

On the Amazon site, the main listing gives only the sizes small-extra large. I chose medium because that seemed the most sensible. When it arrived and I read the box, it turned out I should have purchased the small for my 8 shoe-the small goes up to 8.5. Went back to the site and saw the exact sizes listed, but only at the bottom under Customer Q and A.Today was just the second time I wore them. I put them on over L.L. Bean-type snow boots.The Yaktrax are great on ice and slush, make you feel confident. But, they slide around on smooth, hard, indoor surfaces so you feel unsteady.And then, today, after walking around on them for a half-hour or so, I looked down and realized one was gone. Since they seem to fit tightly on the shoe, I don't know how that can happen, but, needless to say, after spending $20 for them, I'm very disappointed.

This product is used by police forces in carrying out their duties. It is easily and quickly installed on shoes and prevents slipping. The price is reasonable compared to the cost of almost any accident. Like all things however it can wear out depending on how often it is used and under what conditions. Nevertheless cost, effectiveness and ease of use would seem to trump whatever issues there might be.

This product worked great- until it broke. The plastic bit on the bottom just snapped after less than a month of using it. So...I think I will try different brand.
