Replacement Pit Boss Digital Thermostat Controller Board with WiFi and Bluetooth Function, can Connect to Mobile APP, Easier to Control Grill Temperature, W/LCD Display

After following an err code saying the ignitor was bad I replaced the control panel and thermostat and ignitor. Total cost just under 80.00 dollars all easy to install and smoker works just like new again. Smoker holds temp better and start up is faster

I bought this to replace the sensor in a z grills smoker. Worked perfect.

Picked this up 100% in the dark. Product had no reviews and not listed as compatible with my smoker. Saw this controller was listed for a pit boss and most controllers for Pit boss, Traeger and Z grill are the same or compatible so I gave this one a try due to the 3 probe slots and wifi/app. I knew this might not work before buying it and did not contribute to my review rating.Note - Extra probes not included with the controller, picked up some universal probes(3.5) for Pitboss/Traeger controllers and they worked fine.I gave ⭐⭐⭐⭐ / 5 due to lack of instructions and ease of use. Definitely had to come back to the Amazon ad to see the photos.Install was definitely plug and play for my Z Grill 700D but I did run into a fitmet issue was the LCD board to big to fit (see photos). Used my dremel tool to grind the opening on the pellet hopper for the controller. (slipped a few times, don't mind my sharpie paint 😂). I got it to fit after a little bit of grindage and a few cuss words. Controller mounted up fine without issue but is a little smaller than the stock controller. You can see the outline from the old controller. 👀Setting temps is by dial which can be annoying going from 160-350+. The temp settings are smaller increments so that's a plus but a negative when cycling to your desired temp. Clicking the dial IN sets the temp as well as cycle through alarm temps for individual probes.Now on to the app... it's great and was easy to use/set up. I was able to link to the grill controller quick without issue. The app lets you turn grill off and on as well and change all temp as well as adjust individual probe alarms. The app also has more settings I couldn't get to while playing with the controller. Shut down temp as well and shut down fan time can be adjusted from the app.So far this may have saved me from upgrading my meter+ to the block. I can't wait to do a long cook with this board and report back on temp swings ect.Until then 4/5.Ended up doing a return on product. Used it twice with both times have high heat temp errors. Also app would stall. Reset app and it would reset my temp settings and probe alarms. Last photo is of the app reading the temp while being set at 385°Returned this for a PID controller.Good luck!

I first off want to say how much I love this 600 series zgrill! It had been throwing intermittent HEr codes which result in the board reading a large fire in the grill. Ultimately it probably was just a dirty/fried thermometer. I decided to swap out both the board and thermometer. Great replacement and I would even consider it an upgrade from the original board. For me installing was pretty straight forward and I took my time as I cleaned some things up and wanted to do it right. It came with a small pamphlet that I understood. Grill starts right up and gets to desired temp quick! I also noticed a major difference in the fan not constantly high idling once desired temp is reached and actually just idles down to maintain temp. Big plus was the two additional probe ports included with this board to maintain temps in two separate portions of meat which the original board did not offer! The only thing that could be slightly better is the trimming of the control board to offer a more beveled and sealed fit to the pellet box it’s not a deal breaker by any means but would definitely make this board an all around grand slam. Overall not disappointed and would recommend for anyone looking to mod their pellet grill.

Bought this to update my old Zgrill 700d. Install was easy and like other Zgrill reviews there were fitment issues. Fitment issues I can overlook if the product works. Speaking of works, let's start there.What works:This controller turns on the grill and starts a fire.This controller's shutdown function works, it safely shuts down the grill.This controller reads the internally oven temp very well +/- 5 degrees from two other test sources.That's it.What doesn't work:The wifi/app function failed to function on Thanksgiving (today). Glad I tested it before trying to smoke a bird for multiple hours. Given that the error I received was "network issues" my guess is whatever server backend is used to login to the app isn't sized for a US holiday's worth of traffic.Critically and the most important failure, in my test run I stopped the test after the temp climbed 100 degrees over the set temp and it was still going when I decided to bail on the test. For this type of grill this failure is unacceptable. I can work with +/- 15 degrees as long as it is stable but over 100 degrees?I went back to my stock PID controller, while it too generally runs a little hot at least it is stable. Back to searching for a wifi controller to update my old grill. For those that care I ran double backup oven temp probes one from my wireless thermoworks setup and the other from my flameboss 500 kamado controller to confirm the temps this controller saw inside the grill. Oddly it reads those well it Just can't do anything with the reading it seems.

Bought this after the display went out on my pit boss 820. No wiring just four or five plug-ins and you’re good to go. Don’t worry you can’t mix the plug-ins up because they’re all different sizes.

I used this on the King Chii smoker. It's bolts directly up with no modification. I only had to cut the temp probe wire to manually screw then to the board. Do not use the pit boss app, is not compatible. You have to use the "Smarter Grill" app and Wi-Fi works great. King Chii words like a rockstar now. Worth the upgrade.

Nothing to dislike. It was completely plug and play, took about 10 min to change and my smoker had never worked this good right from brand new

Works like a champ! Had the ERR error on my Pit Boss. Installed new one and smoker is back to life. Had to cut off the old one and install the new one beside it since mounting of old unit was fused to the smoker. You need to research YouTube for installation instructions. In my case i needed to drill 3 new holes for the mount and cable. You can avoid if you can get the old screws to release. You gotta get right inside the machine and get at the electronics remove the old cable from the circuit board, cut the zip ties that tie up the excess cabling etc. etc. so it’s a bit of work

The probe end was a direct fit but I had to modify the plug end. It did not fit my Pit Boss Sportsman 820. It came with leads and it needed a plug. I cut the plug off the old probe and put it on the end of the new one. Grille is working perfect now.

Perfect fit for my pitboss 820 with dial controls. The wires are plenty extra long and you need to be careful when you tuck them in that they won’t be in the way of the fan blades. Checking with a second thermometer this one is reading very accurate.
