Helpful planning extensive motorcycle trip

Great up to date info. Maps have little detail. Cannot follow in different areas due to lack of routes or locations.

Small and nice and concise with lots of goodies inside

This did not meet our needs. It seemed to be written more for people visiting the Saint John area. We we're pretty disappointedthe book did not really cover all of Newfoundland. The visitors guide that is free from the province was much more useful.

Frustratingly, there are few guides just to NL. Unfortunately, this one doesn't do the job. Much of the background info is just cut and paste from their Atlantic Canada guide and not Newfoundland specific. Somehow, they manage to make NL sound not so great to visit--and we had a terrific time going around the province. We didn't find it helpful planning or during our trip. Go with Fodor's or LP instead (latter I think excludes NL from title even though it's in the book).

I like this guidebook, but as best I can tell it is word-for-word the Newfoundland and Labrador chapter lifted verbatim from the Moon Atlantic Canada guide. So if you are only visiting N&L, then buy this guide. But if you are visiting all of Atlantic Canada, and have purchased the Moon Atlantic Canada guide, then you already have everything that is in the Moon N&L guide. I felt they could have been more upfront about this.

Just released in July, this is a detailed and complete travel guide for Newfoundland & Labrador. It literally arrived on my doorstep the day before we left on our trip. What I found most helpful were the restaurant recommendations, which were quite accurate. We ended up going to a number of places that I would have never thought to try otherwise. It made our trip more interesting. Compared to other travel guides for the area, in my view this is the best one that I could find.

Easy to read and understand. All the must see places are described and even prices for food and lodging. A really handy little book.

I haven’t finished with it yet. The book will be used to plan a future trip to Newfoundland.
