A Great Read for Young Children
My three-year-old daughter loves the Llama Llama books. Her favorite is Llama Llama Red Pajama. She asked me to read it to her so often that I decided to buy her more Llama Llama books. This book is the third one I have purchased and it's the third one she has loved. Each of the Llama Llama books are told in rhyming fashion and with very colorful and expressive pictures. We have laughed numerous times at the expressions on the llamas' faces. The books are about a little llama and his mama and they each teach a nice lesson. This book in particular is about a little llama who has to learn to share. He is fine sharing his toys with Nelly Gnu until she tries to play with his precious stuffed llama toy. Suddenly he decides sharing isn't so fun after all. This book teaches a nice lesson about sharing and friendship. Each time the llama misbehaves in these books, the mother corrects him and a lesson is learned. They are always realistic scenarios too. In the Red Pajama book, the llama does not want to go to sleep without his mama, which is a scenario that we have experienced with our daughter. In Llama Llama Mad at Mama, the little llama hates going shopping with his mama and throws a tantrum in the store. Our daughter doesn't throw tantrums while we shop, but I know this is a common scenario for other parents. In this book, the little llama doesn't want to share, and this is another scenario we experience with our daughter. She is an only child so we don't have as many opportunities to teach her about sharing as we would if she had siblings. This books is great for a little more help in that area. She is really curious about the story and the pictures and she asks questions. This gives us a good opportunity to talk to her about what's going on and the right thing to do. The story is very engaging and entertaining for both her and me. She always pays attention when I'm reading this, which I can't say for other books. Also, the illustrations are great and she always studies them quite well before asking questions and pointing out interesting bits. I recommend these books for all parents of preschoolers and young school-age children. This is a wonderful book with a good lesson and it's a fun read. I actually don't mind reading the Llama Llama books over and over again. Many other books make me want to cry when she asks me to read them for the hundredth time. I bought the hardback version of this book and it's nice and big with a dust jacket. The print in this book is a good size too, so even people without perfect vision can probably read it quite well.

Great for 3 year old, story about meeting a new friend, not sharing, taking a break, trying again.
Great for 3 year old, like all Llama Llama books. Short simple story about learning to play with a new friend and having a hard time sharing a favorite toy. The two kids then take a break from the toy and try playing in other ways and practice sharing. Story about meeting a new friend, not sharing, taking a break, trying again.

great book
Who doesn't love LLama LLama books? so adorable!I bought this book for my toddler, we are teaching how much fun it is to share with friends(its a tough lesson. The message in the book about sharing is great, it does a wonderful job. The length of the book is a bit long for a toddler, doesn't keep his interest just yet. He does love the pictures, there is a toy train, truck, doll, all the favorites.
