Q: I am driving this with a 9v (not 5v) battery at a constant frequency of 350hz for a status buzzer. how will that affect the life span of the speaker?

It's going to shorten the lifespan of the speaker. Try using a voltage regulator to bring the input voltage down to 5V.

Q: Are these piezo or electromagnetic? What is the DC resistance?

I think piezo. They must be fed a digital tone signal via arduino or raspberry pi or similar device.

Q: How loud are these? If i were to, say, use this in a helmet would it deafen me?

They *can* be quite loud, but it is easy to dampen the sound with simple material. Seal the bottom (where the leads are, and which is wide open) . It requires resonance to amplify the sound. Also, the tiny hole in the top can be sealed (put vinyl tape over it, or hot glue it closed).

1/2 diameter, 5/16 deep,and 1/4 spacing on the pins
