Excellent - a longer clearer scale than the Intex, and possible to calibrate
I checked this against a certified thermometer (accurate to 0.1C) and it read 0.5C out. This is good enough for most purposes, but as I was looking for a thermometer I could use to measure sea temperature accurately I discovered that it is possible to adjust it (if you are keen) by removing the float (which is held by a large blob of hot melt glue in the top), separating the two halves, picking out the glue that holds the glass thermometer in place and then sliding it until it reads correctly before applying a big blob of Evo Stick. Without the float it makes a very compact thermometer that I can carry in my swimming bag. I prefer this thermometer to the Intex one, which I also bought, as this has a scale that is quite a bit longer and markings that are easier to read accurately. All a bit keen, I know, but I wanted to be able to say to the Southwold lifeguard folk that it was exact, and demonstrate that the temperatures chalked on their notice board were wildly out (they insisted the sea never goes above 18 but this year it reached 23C at Southwold and Felixstowe!) I've finally won my battle with them and got them to admit that they were guessing (one of them joked that lower figures kept people out of the water and made life easier for them!).On my last visit they proudly showed me that they had now bought a thermometer and were actually measuring regularly! True sea temperatures at the beach are hard to find, as the figures given by the Met office etc are usually made in mid ocean and are not representative of temperatures at the beach which are always quite a bit warmer, even if you swim out quite a way.

Great thermometer
Arrived as promised next day, put straight into the outside pond, temp of water monitored which we found to be correct, it’s a very stylish floating unit, easy to read, just have to make sure it’s somewhere easily accessible, pleased with the purchase, much easier to read than the previous one we had.

Does the job
Bought to go wild water swimming just to give an idea of water temp and it works. Have tied it to my tow float. Seems quite robust, is easy to read. Matches reading of somebody else. I love it and so do the other people I swim with.

pool ther
did not come with a meter cord as advertised , and that was the reason why I picked it.

Not impressed
Bought this because looked good and fair price.. unfortunately seemed poorly made or faulty as used for ice dipping in Finland ant the thermometer wouldn’t go below 0 degrees even though I know was in fact about -3 degrees or less .. wouldn’t recommend

As described
I use it for swimming in the sea in winter. So far so good. It differs by one degree C compared to my friend's thermometer, close enough.
