LCD SCREEN HAS NO BACKLIGHT, IMPOSSIBLE TO READ INDOORS
Over complicated, all I needed was voltage and frequency of a generator. Proved impossible to read the display which is very dim and poor contrast. The built in socket is very stiff, difficult to insert plugs. There were no instructions included.Returning to Amazon

Cost effective handy tool.
People complain about it not being backlit. It's a great piece of kit for the small price asked. Use a torch or your phone if you cannot see the display for goodness sake. It's great to check an appliance for current consumption or mains voltage whilst an appliance is in use as well as if you want to check costs of an appliances energy use. It's a handy electricians tool to have so well done to this company.

Very useful for determining electrical power usage and costs
The media could not be loaded. I ordered this so we can more closely monitor which devices are using the most power and therefore costing the most. The plug is quite large so doesn't fit into all the areas I would like to use it but where I could relocate a device to try it - I have done that or have done it using an extension lead. This was very easy to set up, having found our current KWh rate from our energy provider website. This is entered using the Set button and the other buttons to go up/down and move through the digits. Finally pressing Set again saves the setting. In my video I plugged it into an extension lead that has 8 plugs attached for our TV, smart hub, room camera/monitor, smart speaker and tested it by seeing the usage when everything is on standby and also after switching on the TV (which also includes using the bluetooth speaker beneath the TV). You can see the noticeable jump when the TV and speaker is switched on and off.I have had it plugged into 1 device for a few days also (a wifi repeater satellite) as I was intrigued to see how much that is using and see that it is very accurate in keeping a running total cost and energy usage. It also shows how many days it has been counting as well as total cost for those days so far.It also shows voltage, amperage too but for me the main thing is that having popped in the current KWh cost it is showing how much that is costing. I will be putting it back into the TV multi-plug thing as I think that is what we are using the most and I'm sure will help remind us to properly switch it off when not using anything that is connected.I am sure that with more and more analysis and usage that this will definitely help us monitor and target places where we can save energy usage and of course money in the months and years coming. This is very good quality and easy to read and I am very happy with this and recommend (so long as you have enough space on the socket/s you wish to monitor). Thank you very much :)

A real ‘must have’ these days
The media could not be loaded. Bearware - Power Monitor Meter Energy Saving Device with LCD Display, Electricity Usage Saving ….Unlike smart meters that tell you how much power you use in your home, this meter allows you to monitor individual appliances, not only showing you how much power, each thing uses but it can also calculate the cost of their use too. There are a range of settings, it can show you the mains voltage, current and power consumption of your appliance, you can set it up with the cost per unit of your electricity and it will show you how much each is costing as you use it.The unit is quite large, and I think rather ugly looking, but it is shaped so that it only takes the width of a standard UK plug. The screen is bright and clear, easy to read, (although there were two large scratches on mine), and it has four buttons for scrolling through the various displays and setting your cost per unit. The instructions mention a rechargeable battery, but on my meter, there is a tiny battery compartment at the rear that takes two Lithium button cells, this keeps the meter active even when turned off, not plugged in or transferring it between appliances.😥 Large ugly design😥 Scratches on the display😃 Clear easy to read display😃 Display is backlit😃 Batteries for memory and settings backup😃 Very useful to find costly appliancesFind out for yourself how much your appliances are costing you. Something that is really needed with the cost of electricity these days.

A power meter
Short and sweet if you are going to be using this on sockets that are low down don't buy this as there is no backlight so it makes it nearly impossible to see the digits making it pointless, There are cheaper Power usage plugs that come with a backlight, I read the glowing reviews from Vine members, but of course there's came free of charge.
