After reading lots of reviews and watching many YouTube videos, I chose the East Oak over the Solo Mesa! One of the appealing things for me is that the East Oak doesn't look like a fancy coffee can! It's fairly substantial and made from 304 stainless steel! I tried it with Douglas fir wood stove pellets as well as some well seasoned silver maple splits. With the pellets, it burned a bit cooler but a lot longer without the need to refuel. I tested it in fairly windy conditions and still worked great! Highly recommend!

The media could not be loaded. Yes it really is a five star product. First quality is top notch and that quality is preserved in how well it is packed. Second it really seems to work flawlessly. Nice long burn time with pellets (60 minutes plus), plenty of heat and near if not smokeless in as few as 5 minutes. So easy to start with a couple vaseline soaked cotton balls. Nice tall flame with great secondary burn. This tabletop fire pit is the perfect size in my opinion not to small or large. Nice and portable for picnics and camping. Works great with pellets using the center column or wood chunks without. On the ground three or four people could sit around it and stay nice and toasty. On a table top you will have some great ambiance and you could easily roast some hotdogs or marshmallows. If you want a small home fire pit or like a fire when camping it's hard not to like this table top smokeless fire pit. It just hits so many of the right notes.

I received the stove, brand new in a box. Upon unboxing I realized the flame ring was missing. It must have been an oversight at the factory because it was clearly new. I reached out to customer service and they promptly sent me a flame ring, which I received in 2 days. Then they followed up to make sure I got it and everything is ok.It’s cold here in CT and not ideal weather for sitting outdoors but I couldn’t wait to light it up so I did. My family and I also roasted sausages. It was a good time. Stove worked well as expected. The build of the stove is robust and very high quality stainless steel. I highly recommend it.

I bought this to use while traveling in a van. I don't want to deal with firewood and like to have a small "campfire" for a bit before bed. I had previously gotten a smaller 5" cheap one intending to use it with wood pellets since I have a pellet stove and always have some available. It worked well but I could only get about 30 minutes of actual fire, after which the coals would burn for hours. There wasn't enough space to add more pellets without suffocating it. The same happened with chunk wood.I figured I needed a bit more space to be able to add more pellets without suffocating the bed. This was pretty highly rated and I liked the overall design. There's more pieces than I'd care to deal with, but they all fit together easily.So far with a few test burns I'm able to both have the initial fire last longer, as well as keep it burning by carefully adding additional pellets. The included "chimney" I think goes a long way towards helping refueling without snuffing out the fire as it allows airflow through the coals to keep it hot. With a full load of pellets I get about 45 minutes of good fire before it starts to die down. By carefully adding fresh pellets on one side, waiting for them to get burning well, then adding to the opposite side, I was able to keep the fire going for an hour and a half. I was never able to get my small one to burn that long without choking.I'm happy with being able to have an hour long campfire with minimal fuss.About a week after buying and testing this East Oak announced a new portable fire pit, the Mini Fuoco. I was tempted to return this as the new model has fewer pieces and stores more compactly with pieces nesting for storage. That model is an inch narrower though and appears to lack the middle chimney. It might be worth a look if you feel this is too big for you.The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is the square design. I'd like to add a heat deflector for colder nights but all the ones I've seen are 3 legged designs for round stoves. As far as I can see East Oak doesn't sell one for this model.

Wow!3 It burns so cleanly only a few "cigarettes " full of ash needs to be dumped out4 when it is burning at blast force Temps ( see pics) it generates a good amount of heat even 2 ft. away (60F ambient)5. A fire starers delight if you like looking at campfires but want to do so anywhere.6. When it gets red hot inside it is amazing to see the jets of fire around the ring and center column.7 Easy to start with a little tiki torch oil. Alcohol will do but may singe your eyebrows when starting.I use the same wood pellets I use for my smoker. They are cheap, but this little furnace will burn through them much faster than my smoker would for 1.5 hoursCons?Nine really unless you use expensive wood pellets. Mine are 15.00 per 40lb bag so small beans for the fun and utility of this little firepit marvel.
