Don't buy it, if you are cutting glass thicker than 3 mm.
Got the product thinking it's Stanley, reputable and reliable.Problems with the product. The cutter head is not fixed in place, it moves at odd angles this getting a straight cut even with a set-square is not possible. If the glass you are cutting is more than 3 mm thick, it will not cut. Know this because I was cutting a window pane and the glass was 5mm thick. It just scratched the surface. You need to lubricate the surface of the glass before cutting, seems counter to what it's meant for.The cutting angle of the tool is about 40 degrees, which is because of the large metal tip and the constantly moving wheel. The wheel doesn't seem sharp enough, you may need to sharpen it separately.Wish I didn't spend money on this, it makes more sense to get glass cut from your local shops than spend money on this. My sparkplug hardend steel tip did more work on the glass than this. And that was for free.

Stanley glass cutter >>> The little master <<<
I am always figuring out ways to reuse/ revamp glass bottles of different shapes and colors as they are too beautiful to be thrown away !!Now , for many projects I need to cut off the neck of the bottle or the base of the bottle. So I was pleased to see the Stanley cutter on deal and bought it.This simple device is meant to help you make a neat scratch. You ought to have stable hands and skillful enough to get the scratch at the right place with the right pressure. This may not give the desirable result in the first attempt, so practice on spare piece of glass sheet initially. There are 3 notches to give you grip on glass sheets of different thickness for breaking off flat pieces of glass. The rounded end helps in tapping and breaking off the unwanted part. The wide contoured grip allows firm holding and pressing on the glass for accurate scratching. The utube is flooded with videos and I can suggest you videos by Phil Crockett and well done tips for cutting glass bottles which require a different technique. It is a useful little device and makes glass cutting a breeze.Do express some love if you found this of any help. :)

Looks feeble, works fine
I am not professional, still can manage till 8mm with this one. The pen is little light for breaking the glass.

Scope of improvement to make this cutter better with some change.
The cutter is cutting fine. But only one thing I found improper is the gap where the wheel is placed is too wide , and due to this the wheel does not follow straight line. The gap should be of only 0.1mm so the wheel will not diverge and move in a straight line. Due to this it is not ment for professional cutting. At this rate many local cutters I have bought with carbide wheel and having play in the gap of only 0.2mm.I rectified this mistake in stanley cutter by winding three strands of fine electrical copper wire, on the shaft of the wheel, so now the gap I got of perfect 0.1mm, and I have kept this cutter as stand by cutter. As obviously the stanley cutter with non carbide wheel is not cutting as good as the cutter I have of carbide wheel. The Stanley has scope of improvement to make this cutter better and provide the purchaser the value for the money they spend.I use coconut oil successfully as cutting oil, which is the the best option which is free from smelly kerosin and other smelly and poisonous chemical cutting oils for glass.May all be happy and free from all the difficulties of life.

Very good if u know to use it....
The product in itself is very good. It's somewhat tricky to use... I say somewhat because I could you figure out myself of how to use it well.... First I went as per the directions.... But couldn't get a neat cut on a 4mm mirror.... Was dissappointed.... But then I used one of my other tool along with it.... The Stanley c clamp..i will explain how to do it neatly..1.First lay down the glass/mirror on a flat surface. (preferably on a work table)2. Take a straight cut wood stick of say 1/2 thick to work as a guiding scale at the line of cut.3. Take ur measurement of the glass to be cut. Put the wood scale on the line of cut. Hold the scale firmly on the mirror4. Dip ur cutter in oil. And put it on the mirror along the wood scale edge. Rub it along the wood scale by pressing hard along the glass/mirror surface. U will get a straight and neat line on the glass surface.5.now the trick part.... If ur cutting long lengths say 3-4 inches.... Put that wood scale under the glass /mirror a bit away from the cut line. And gently press the cut out part down. It should break easily. If ur cutting short length sa 1-3 inch u need to use the c clamp. Clamp the cut out glass gently but firmly on the glass thickness and give a gentle push down ward. ( the glass should be kept on the table edge with tha cut out part out of table area). The glass breaks easily.Well guys hope it helps.P. S. I am advising to use the clamp to avoid any accidents and to obtain a neat cut. Also it's difficult to breathe a smaller length with hands or by pressure.
